Britannia Cream Ale

Brewery: Spire

Spire brew this 6.4% beer. Britannia Cream Ale is brewed near Chesterfield, S. Yorkshire Active - Permanent

A new interpretation of IPA with a German hoppy twist. Stronger than most and full of character, we have been told by many devotees that it is “deceptively drinkable!”. It was first brewed as a Special for the Barrow Hill Rail Ale Festival in May 2006, and named after the locomotive that the beers are set against. It was an instant hit and became one of Spire Brewery’s signature beers. This strong IPA has a smooth malty texture with caramelised orange hop flavours coming from the liberal addition of Tettnang hops.
